The Singapore Festival of Football is set to return after TEG Sport and the nation’s tourism board signed a five-year partnership.

The event will take place this year with the English Premier League’s Arsenal and Newcastle United, and Serie A’s AC Milan, before being scheduled for alternating years.

Arsenal is due to take on AC Milan on July 23 and host an open training session two days later.

The Gunners then face Newcastle on July 27, with all of the action taking place at the 55,000-capacity National Stadium.

“We are delighted with the partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board,” said managing director of TEG Asia, Timothy Ho.

“The nation’s location, efficiency and passion for European football make it a natural spot for teams to conduct their pre-season training and connect with their fans in Southeast Asia.

“This is not the first time we’ve brought European football clubs to Singapore and this partnership will allow us to continue allowing fans here to enjoy world-class football on a regular basis.

“The tournament will reunite fans in Singapore with their beloved clubs with the Gunners returning for the first time since 2018 and the Magpies since 1996. AC Milan fans will also get to watch their club play live for the first time in Singapore.”

The inaugural Singapore Festival of Football took place in 2023 and saw more than 130,000 fans in attendance at the National Stadium over three matches.

Fellow Premier League teams Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, and Germany’s Bayern Munich all took part.

Tickets for the event are scheduled to go on sale to the general public on April 25.
