USL Championship team Rhode Island FC has announced Centreville Bank as the new naming-rights partner of its home stadium, which is set to open next month.

The long-term deal rebrands the venue as Centreville Bank Stadium. The agreement marks an extension of Rhode Island FC’s existing partnership with the bank, which commenced in November 2023

The stadium will be 100% electric and have a capacity of more than 10,500. Rhode Island FC’s first match at the stadium is scheduled for May 3 against San Antonio FC, with a sellout crowd anticipated.

Centreville Bank Stadium is located in downtown Pawtucket. It is hoped the stadium will provide a year-round hub of sports, entertainment and community events.

Work officially commenced on the project back in August 2022 after Fortuitous Partners reached an agreement with the state and the City of Pawtucket. At that point, Pawtucket was without a USL team, but Rhode Island FC debuted in the USL Championship last year.

The team has been playing at Bryant University’s Beirne Stadium while work on the new venue is carried out.

Harold M. Horvat, president, chief executive and chairman of Centreville Bank, said: “This isn’t just a stadium – it’s a symbol of opportunity, teamwork, and the power of community. In partnership with Rhode Island FC, Centreville Bank Stadium will be the centre of action in Rhode Island and a driver of economic progress, creating lasting, meaningful impact for generations to come.”

Brett M. Johnson, co-founder and chairman of Rhode Island FC, added: “Centreville Bank Stadium will be the outdoor sports and entertainment epicentre of Rhode Island and beyond.

“We could not be more excited to expand our partnership with Centreville Bank. We share a vision to be a beacon of community pride, economic growth and development in Pawtucket and the region. Centreville Bank is an ideal Rhode Island-based corporate leader that recognises the unique attributes of this stadium that will connect and unite the entire state.”
