Seregh, a sports and entertainment real estate development platform, has announced Delaware North and LionTree as new strategic investors.

The investment is designed to strengthen the company’s ability to transform mixed-use developments around major sports and entertainment venues.

Delaware North, the hospitality and venue management firm, led the transformation of TD Garden, home of the NBA’s Boston Celtics and NHL’s Boston Bruins. The project also included the adjacent Hub on Causeway mixed-use development.

Delaware North is owned by The Jacobs family, which also owns the Bruins. Seregh said Delaware North will become an “invaluable addition” to the company.

LionTree is a global merchant bank specialising in media, technology and sports. Delaware North and LionTree join Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) and CAA as backers of Seregh.

Amy Latimer, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Delaware North and a member of Seregh’s board of directors, said: “We’ve seen firsthand how strategic real estate investment can transform a venue into an economic and cultural powerhouse.

“With our experience at TD Garden and beyond, we are excited to partner with Seregh to create best-in-class developments that enhance the fan experience and maximise value for all stakeholders.”

Alex Michael, managing director of LionTree, added: “There is a strong opportunity for smart execution at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and real estate. We are excited to work with this group, adding LionTree’s expertise and network to help propel Jonathan’s vision forward.”

Seregh, pronounced “surge”, is short for Sports and Entertainment Real Estate Global Holdings. The company was founded by Jonathan Facitelli.
