Major League Soccer team New York City FC has revealed details of a planned Tunnel Club space at Etihad Park, its new stadium that is scheduled to open in time for the 2027 season.

The Tunnel Club will offer Gatsby, Pitchside and Tunnel Seats, with fans now able to register their interest in purchasing a membership.

The space will be situated near the players’ dressing rooms, and players will walk through the Tunnel Club before entering the pitch ahead of kickoff. Fans in the Tunnel Club will follow the players out to their seats, using the same tunnel entrance.

The area will include private, reserved tables for two or four people, with tickets including all-inclusive food and beverages. NYCFC claims the Tunnel Club will offer the best food and beverage experience in professional sport in New York City.

Fans will also have access to club press conferences, with the media room to be located inside the Tunnel Club. The Tunnel Seats will be located right above the centre line and will offer fans an oversized leather seat.

The Pitchside Seats will be located even closer to the pitch and will feature premier table locations near the player procession. The Gatsby seats will be the eight seats closest to the team benches and will feature the exact same seats as the players and coaches.

In total, there will be 16 Gatsby seats, 96 Pitchside seats, and 164 Tunnel seats. Memberships will be available on a full-season basis with a multi-year term commitment, based on location.

NYCFC broke ground on Etihad Park in December. It will be the first fully electric sports stadium in New York City, and the first major-league sports venue to be built in New York City since 2012, when Barclays Center, home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, opened its doors.

The 25,000-capacity Etihad Park is being privately financed by the club and will also include retail, food and beverage facilities, office space, and a City Square plaza. The stadium will form part of a wider transformation of the Willets Point area of Queens that will also include 2,500 homes, a hotel and a public school.

Etihad Airways, the club’s shirt sponsor, acquired naming rights to the stadium in November as part of a 20-year deal.

NYCFC has played at Yankee Stadium since the team launched in 2015.
