We round up the latest movements from the stadium ecosystem…

Ashley Hinsen (pictured left) has been named vice president of sales, private events for Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.

In her role as vice president of sales, private events, Hinsen will oversee and expand the private events business at Allegiant Stadium. The multipurpose venue, managed by entertainment giant ASM Global, has a capacity of 65,000 and more than 10 event spaces to deliver events and experiences.

Andy Gorchov, Allegiant Stadium’s general manager, said: “With a career spanning 20 years in the Las Vegas market, Hinsen has established herself as a key figure in the hospitality industry. We are sure that her results-driven but people-first approach to private events will continue to expand the legendary convention and meetings operations this facility is known for delivering.”

The Unrivaled professional women’s basketball league has named Micky Lawler (pictured centre) as commissioner.

Lawler joins Unrivaled following nearly a decade of leading the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) as its president. She will oversee and manage day-to-day operations for Unrivaled, including launching the league, driving direction and strategy, leading partnership initiatives, overseeing all revenue verticals, and being a voice to the athletes.

Launching in January 2025, Unrivaled will feature 30 of the current top women’s basketball stars in the world across six teams for a 3-on-3, compressed full court style of play.

“During a time of unprecedented excitement around women’s sports, I am humbled to be named as the inaugural Commissioner of Unrivaled,” said Lawler. “We’re creating an innovative professional basketball league that highlights the extraordinary athleticism and talent of the best players in the world. From the co-founders to the investors and dedicated staff, everyone at Unrivaled is committed to engaging with fans and amplifying the upward trajectory of women’s basketball.”

Orona joins Populous team

Frances Orona (pictured right) has joined Populous’ new Portland office as senior interior designer, associate principal.

Orona held the same role at ZGF Architects LLP for almost two decades until 2022.

“We are on track to continue expanding as we win work around the globe and pursue opportunities in the Pacific Northwest,” she said.

Dakronics has boosted its business development and sales team in North America having placed Austin Nelson in charge of AV integrator sales in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

Nelson joined the Daktronics team in 2016 and leans on his experience with the company’s On Premise business unit in the south-central region of the US. He recently accepted the position of sales representative promoting direct-view LED solutions and their various applications to AV integrators and end users.
