Manchester’s 23,000-capacity AO Arena is set to show all remaining England games from the quarter finals onwards at Euro 2024 in what it says is the UK’s biggest screening of the tournament.
Following England’s victory against Slovakia, the venue has partnered with football fan zone experience company Road to Victory to broadcast the nation’s quarter-final against Switzerland on Saturday (July 6). It will show all further games should England advance.
In addition to showing the match, there are set to be activities for fans such as beer pong, penalty shoot-out, and table football.
“From Saturday 6th July AO Arena will be showing all England games on the big screen, Road to Victory promises a unique experience for fans, combining high-scale production with interactive technology, creating a multi-sensory Euros adventure,” read an AO Arena statement.
“AO Arena is transforming the iconic venue into a fully immersive football experience, complete with beer pong, penalty shoot-out and table football areas, all to be enjoyed with discounted pints.”
Road to Victory has also been operating a fan zone experience at Diecast in Manchester since June 16, which is set to remain throughout the tournament.
The AO Arena screening is aimed at being suitable for all ages in what is said to be a brand first for Road to Victory.
AO Arena underwent a £50m ($63m/€59m) upgrade earlier this year which saw it unveil new premium areas that will be accessible for the England fan events.
“AO Arena’s 2024 addition, a luxury restaurant and bar, The Mezz, will be turned into a family zone, equipped with kids entertainment including face painting and sign making, creating an inclusive and enjoyable experience for little ones,” read the statement.
“No AO Arena experience would be complete without live entertainment, by choosing to watch the Euros at AO, guests also get the bonus of a half time show including live performances and interactive games before and after the match.”
